Why I Liked the book "A Walk to Remember"
Choice book report
I read the book “A Walk To Remember” the main characters are Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter they are both in high school. Jamie is a skinny, plain Jane kind of girl. She always wears her hair in a tight bun, and wears no makeup. Jamie wears the same sweater everyday and carries her bible everywhere she goes. It is her mother’s bible, her mother died and that is one of her most prized possesion. Jamie is a high spirited girl; she walks around with a smile on her face. Jamie is admired by every adult and in town. She will do anything and help anyone. People at school look at Jamie like she is some sort of freak, just because she reads the bible, dresses differently, and her dad is the reverend at their town’s church. Drama club is very important to Jamie. She is going
to star as the angle in the next play. This part is very serious to her because she said it resembles her mother’s figure. That’s where Landon Carter comes in. Landon on the other hand is nothing like Jamie. He tries to act tough in front of his friends. His friend Eric is one of the most popular guys in school so he tries to live up to that reputation. Landon father works in Washington D.C. he comes and visits Landon and his mom every once in a while. Landon and his father don't get along real well. His father has high expectations for him; he is making him run for student body president. When he ran for student body president he won. He was required to show up to all the school events including the upcoming dance. Landon didn’t know who to go with he asked so many girls and they all turned him down. Landon decides to ask Jamie to the dance, she accepted after checking with her father to see if it was alright. At the dance, Jamie saved Landon from almost getting beat up, she really didn’t do anything but babble words. After that night Jamie asked Landon to be the male actor in the school play. He said he would after what she did for him at the dance. After the countless nights of walking her home he didn’t know how quick he would fall in love with a Jamie.

My New Cabin
This last summer my family had a small, humble, Amish cabin built on our land up north. We share the land with 6 of my dad's siblings. It's a great place to gather as a family and it is surrounded by crisp leaves and colored trees. Overlooking the luminous creek which flows down to the dazzling, crystal lake your senses are amazed. Sitting around the firepit with my family roasting marshmallows, laughing and having a great time. It's one one of my most favorite places to be because of the peaceful, serene atmosphere. When I'm there my thoughts drift far from reality. This cabin will bring hard work, but the hard work is worth doing for just one of those memrable afternoons.
This coming spring were going to decorate the interior of the cabin with furniture and decorations. My dad and I are going to build a huge deck of to the side of the cabin, I am really excited for that, I also get to make a ton of birdhouses for our land. Thiscabin means a lot to me.

Feathers at my Feet
It started out a great day, my family and I on vacation in Missouri. Then my mom got a call from my Aunt. While talking to her sister tears build in her eyes. It was Grandpa he had been battling colon cancer for about a year, he was getting weaker everyday. It was hard to see him in so much pain. Before we left Minnesota we had gone to pick up Grandpa and drive him to the hospital. We were packed up for our trip and asked him if her really wanted us to go or should we stay with him. He really wanted us to go on our trip. He loved Branson Missouri and did not want to spoil our fun. He had told my mom he would be fine. We were on day 4 of our trip when mom got the call so we decided to leave the theme park and head back to our time share; we packed our things and cut our vacation short. We headed to Wadena, Minnesota where my grandparents live. About a half hour before we would arrive in Wadena my aunt called again. She told us to go straight to their house instead of the hospital. My family and I all in tears. I looked out my window saw the stars, not believing what happened, hopping I would just walk up from this terrible dream.
The next morning memories flooding through my mind like a movie. Remembering the things me and my grandpa did together. He taught me so much like how to draw, to fish, to read, and so much more. Remembering the walks and adventures we took. Wishing I was there to tell him I love him.
A few days later at his funeral. Not wanting to talk to anyone. It’s hard to keep a conversation going while trying to hold the tears back. At the burial hearing taps, the folding of the flag, that now sits on the mantle above the fireplace at my Grandmas house. People’s eyes watering as are mine. My grandpa was a friend to everyone. He was the best grandpa someone could ask for.
A few weeks or so later I noticed a feather sitting on my desk, it was small and white. Not thinking anything of it I blew it away. More kept showing up at random times not all at once but one at a time. I told my mother and she said my grandpa collected feathers when he was little. Turns out my family members were finding some feathers too. I keep all my feathers in a small box. When they show up it’s like a small note saying everything’s going to be okay. I know I will have a great day when I find feathers at my feet.
